Brilliantly polished stainless steel with a good surface hardness that will not score from clamp binding screws and have excellent chemical resistance. The rods are 13 mm (1/2 in) in diameter and hollow to reduce weight. The continuously welded walls are 1.6 mm (1/16 in) thick and the ends are plugged with red caps. The stainless steel is SAE T304, the equivalent of AISI 304. The rods are made to metric specifications.
