After sizing, the product forms a slight brown color. The characteristic band pattern obtained with gravity separation on Whatman Grade No. 1 Chro Thin Chromatography Paper exhibits a slight purplish color. This phenomenon usually indicates that a compound other than the one tested is present in the test solution or sample.
